Running a Survivor contest on Splash Sports? We’ve got your back with customizable settings to make it easy, flexible, and fun!
Below you’ll find answers to all your most important setup questions. 🏈💥
Can I extend my contest into the playoffs?
Yes! You can choose to extend your Survivor contest into the playoffs when setting up your contest. Just toggle the setting under Schedule Settings.
What are my options for setting the Pick Deadline?
You have flexibility here! 🙌 Choose when picks are due each week: Pick deadlines ensure fairness and clarity during contests, allowing participants to finalize submissions before games begin.
What’s the “Deadline to Enter Contest”?
Formerly called Entry Deadline, this setting determines when members must join your contest. Choose from:
Sunday at 1PM ET (Default)
Thursday at 8PM ET
Sunday at 4PM or 8PM ET
Monday at 8PM ET
This can be edited until the contest starts! Entries for contests like Splash Survivor pools cannot have deadlines that precede the NFL Kickoff date. Use the 'Entrants Manager' tool under 'Manage Contest' for handling entries effectively.
Pick Sheet Submission and Modifications
Entrants must complete a weekly pick sheet entirely before submission. However, modifications can be made until the pick deadline occurs. For example, if the pick deadline is Sunday at 1 PM, entries can be adjusted until that time. By enforcing these deadlines, Splash ensures consistent and fair gameplay.
Can I run a Survivor pool where players pick losing teams?
Yes! 🎯
There’s now a “Select Losers” option under the Pick Objective section, allowing you to run a reverse-style Survivor contest.
What are Auto Picks and how do they work?
Commissioners can enable Auto Picks during contest creation and set a Max Auto Pick limit per user.
Each user can then configure their own preference:
Largest available home favorite (Default)
Largest available away favorite
✨ Auto Picks are optional for commissioners to enable. If they are turned on, entrants have full control over which autopick setting is applied.
Can I revive entries in a Survivor contest?
Yes, for self-managed contests! You can manually revive entries (aka Buybacks) after elimination. Any revived entries will be clearly labeled in the Leaderboard and Manage Entrants screen. To manually revive entries:
Navigate to the Commissioner tab.
Select 'Manage' for your contest.
Access the 'Entrants Manager.'
Click on 'Revivals.'
Select 'Revive' next to the entrants you wish to bring back. In cases where all entrants are eliminated in the same week, you can enable automatic contest revivals through commissioner tools.
Can I control how often someone uses a team?
Definitely! 🏈 You can set how many times a member can pick the same team:
Once (Default)
Twice
Unlimited
You can also enable a reset of the team us limits once the contest reaches the playoffs.
Can I require double picks during a specific week?
Yes! You can assign a Double Pick Week during contest setup.
Commissioners can also turn on Flexible Double Picks, where you can enable double picks mid-contest based on certain conditions — like if more than 20% of entrants are still alive in Week 10.
Will tiebreakers be available?
There is no option to customize tie-breaker rules in NFL Survivor contests. Ties or missed picks result in elimination, and this rule cannot be modified.
What are “Entry Lives” and how do they work?
Previously called “Additional Lives,” this setting determines how many losses a player can have before elimination. You can now give up to four lives! To edit the 'Entry Lives' setting:
Navigate to the Commissioner tab.
Click 'Manage' on your contest.
Go to 'Settings.'
Edit the 'Entry Lives' option to your preferred value.
For example, if you set up your contest to have 2 Entry Lives, then every entrant will be automatically revived the first time they lose, and eliminated from the contest after their second loss.
📌 In a double pick week, losing both picks still only costs one life.
Will there be a Chop Pot feature?
We’re exploring an automatic Chop Pot feature that would allow all remaining survivors to agree to split the prize pot.
If we can’t build it automatically, we’ll offer a manual option to support this process. Stay tuned!
