Managing Your NHL Player Survivor Contest — Commissioner Tools

How to manage an NHL Player Survivor contest as commissioner — Entrants Manager, checking picks, revivals, Invites Manager, and what settings can be changed mid-contest.

Updated yesterday

As commissioner of an NHL Player Survivor contest, you have access to a set of tools to manage entries, monitor picks, and keep your contest running smoothly.

Entrants Manager

Your primary hub for managing participants. Access it via Commissioner tab → Active → Manage → Entrants Manager.

From here you can:

  • View all entries — see who has entered and their current status (alive, eliminated)

  • Check pick status — see which entries have and haven't submitted picks for the current slate

  • Make a pick on behalf of a member — only available before the pick deadline and only if the member hasn't yet submitted a pick

  • Email entrants — send reminders or announcements to all or selected participants

  • Remove (boot) an entry — permanent and cannot be undone after the contest has started

  • Pause an entry — prevents the entry from making picks; if the pick deadline passes while paused, that entry is eliminated

Revivals

If your contest has Entry Lives enabled, the Revivals tab in the Entrants Manager shows which eliminated entries are eligible to be revived. Revivals are available after a slate concludes and must be completed before the next slate's pick deadline.

For Splash-managed contests, manual revivals are not available after the contest has started — Entry Lives are the only revival mechanism and must be configured before the contest begins.

Checking Picks Before the Deadline

Before the pick deadline passes, commissioners can see which entries have submitted picks but cannot see the actual player selected — this protects pick integrity. After the deadline, all picks become visible to everyone.

Invites Manager

Access via Commissioner tab → Active → Manage → Invites Manager. From here you can:

  • Copy and share your contest invite link

  • Send reminders to members who haven't joined yet

  • Track who has been invited and who has accepted

  • Reset the invite link if needed

⚠️ Once the entry deadline passes, no new entries can be added — the invite link will no longer work for new registrations.

Editing Contest Settings Mid-Contest

Some settings can still be adjusted after the contest starts:

  • Pick deadline — can be edited for the following slate (not the current one)

  • Chat on/off

  • Contest description — update your custom rules or notes

Settings that are locked once the contest starts include scoring rules, entry lives, player reuse limits, payout structure, and the contest format itself.
