Only One Payout Structure for Survivor Contests

Why Splash-managed Survivor contests only offer Winner-Takes-All payouts, what happens in ties, and the optional Prize Splitting feature.

Updated over a week ago

Splash-managed Survivor contests use a Winner-Takes-All payout structure. This is the only payout option available for Survivor contests β€” there is no option to split the prize among multiple finishers.

Why Only Winner-Takes-All?

The Survivor format is built around elimination β€” the last person standing wins. A split-payout structure isn't compatible with that format, so you won't see a payout customization step when creating a Survivor contest. That's expected behavior, not a missing setting.

What Happens If There's a Tie?

If multiple participants survive to the end, the prize is split equally among all final survivors. Splash handles this automatically.

Optional Prize Splitting Mid-Contest

Some Splash Survivor contests include a Prize Splitting option. If enabled by the commissioner, the remaining survivors can unanimously agree to split the prize before the contest ends. This is separate from the end-of-contest tie rule. Learn more about Survivor house rules.

Need a Custom Payout Structure?

If you need more flexibility in how prizes are distributed, consider other contest formats on Splash Sports (like Pick'em or Tiers) that do allow custom payout structures.
