Below are the most common reasons revival may not appear.
1. Revival Was Not Enabled by the Commissioner
Revival (Buyback) is off by default.
If the commissioner did not toggle the feature on during contest creation, the option will not appear for entrants.
If you're unsure whether it was enabled, check the contest settings or contact your commissioner.
2. The Contest Is Not Eligible for Revivals
Revival is not available for contests that:
Start on Day 5 or later (Pick by Day template)
Start in later rounds beyond the eligible revival rounds (Pick by Round template)
If a contest begins too late in the tournament, the revival feature is automatically unavailable.
3. The Revival Cutoff Has Passed
Revival is only available up to a certain point in the tournament.
Pick by Day Contests
Commissioners can allow revivals through any day up to Day 5.
If the contest has progressed beyond the configured cutoff day, revival will no longer appear.
Pick by Round Contests
Commissioners can allow revivals through:
Round of 32 (default), or
Round of 16
If the contest has advanced past the selected cutoff round, revival will no longer be available.
4. The Next Slate Has Already Started
Revivals are slate-based.
If an entry is eliminated, the entrant must:
Complete the revival payment, and
Submit a new pick
Before the next slate begins.
Once the next slate starts, revival for that elimination is no longer available.
5. You’ve Reached the Maximum Allowed Revivals
Each entry is limited to the number of revivals set by the commissioner (default: one).
If you have already used your allowed revival(s), the option will no longer appear.
Quick Checklist
Revival will not appear if:
The feature was never enabled
The contest started too late in the tournament
The revival cutoff day/round has passed
The next slate has already begun
You have already used your allotted revival(s)
If you believe revival should be available but do not see the option, contact Support and provide your contest name so we can review the settings.
