Pick visibility is one of the most important fairness features in Splash contests. Here's exactly what commissioners and members can see — and when.
What Commissioners Can See
Commissioners have visibility into pick status (whether a member has submitted picks or not) via the Entrants Manager at any time. However, the actual pick selections are handled the same way for commissioners as they are for regular members — they follow the same visibility rules below.
Commissioners cannot view the specific selections members have made before the deadline. This is enforced to ensure fairness and prevent any competitive advantage.
When Do Picks Become Visible?
Pick visibility depends on the contest format:
Survivor contests: Picks become public after the official pick deadline for that week passes — typically when the first game of the slate starts
Pick X / Pick'em contests: Picks become visible to all participants after the pick deadline closes
Tiers contests: Picks are revealed after the lock time for that week's slate
Golf contests: Picks are visible once the tournament's pick deadline passes
After the deadline, all picks — including the commissioner's — are visible to everyone in the contest. This is by design to keep the contest fully transparent.
I Can See Picks Before the Deadline — Is That a Bug?
If you believe you're seeing other members' specific pick selections before the deadline has passed, please email support@splashsports.com with your contest name and a description of what you're seeing. Our team will investigate immediately — this would be a visibility issue we'd want to address.
Note that seeing pick status (submitted vs. not submitted) in the Entrants Manager is expected commissioner behavior and does not reveal actual selections.
Downloading Pick Data
Commissioners can download a .csv from the Entrants Manager containing email addresses, surviving entries, and entries with picks. This download also respects the deadline — actual pick selections are only included in the export after the official deadline has passed.
Can Commissioners Change Picks?
In self-managed contests, commissioners may have the ability to enter or modify picks on behalf of members via the Commissioner Console → Member Pick Maintenance. Any pick changes made by the commissioner are fully logged and visible in the pick log, ensuring full transparency for all participants.
In real-money contests, picks cannot be modified by commissioners after submission — this is a legal requirement.
