Identity Verification Verify / share your identity:
What to Expect
Verifying your identity with SQR is a quick and simple process.
It typically takes less than 5 minutes to create an SQR account from scratch.
For existing SQR users, consenting to share your data with Isle of Man Companies Registry is even faster – this can be completed in seconds.
Check out links to our user guides below for step-by-step instructions, and please contact the SQR team for real-time support if needed (for example if your Onboarding Token has expired). We’re on hand between the hours of 9am – 5pm BST, Monday to Friday.
Key Information
The Onboarding Token (which has been sent to you via email) will expire 14 days after it is created. If it is not in your inbox, please check your spam folder
Please use an ID Document that includes your nationality, e.g. a passport or any Government-issued document that clearly shows your full name, date of birth, and nationality. A passport, an Isle of Man driving licence (British Citizens only). Please note: Your identity document must clearly show your nationality in order to be accepted.
Download the SQR app onto your smartphone only. Please note: the app cannot be accessed on a computer. It must be downloaded and used on a mobile phone.
At the moment, the only way to complete UBO ID verification yourself is through the SQR app, which is required to scan your ID document and take a selfie.
If you prefer not to use the app, you can simply wait 14 days from the date your onboarding token was issued. Once that period passes, the Central Registry will contact your nominated officer directly to complete the process.
