System Setup and Maintenance

To access the System Setup and Maintenance page, you must be logged in with a System Administrator account.

The System Setup and Maintenance page includes the following information:

  • Penelope version

  • ClientConnect version (if applicable)

  • The database encryption key

  • Database maintenance options

  • License types

  • Active session information

Critical Information - Encryption Key

This Encryption Key is used for encryption of certain data elements at rest. This key should be backed up outside of Penelope in order to ensure the ability for full data recovery.


Settings Tab

Vacuum Database

Vacuuming the database will ensure any items which have been deleted in Penelope are permanently removed.

  1. In the System Setup section, select System Setup and Maintenance.

  2. On the System Setup and Maintenance page, select the Setting tab.

  3. In the Database Maintenance section, click Vacuum Database.

The function is complete when the page reloads.

Information

It is recommended that this function is run every couple of weeks to help ensure Penelope runs at optimum performance.

Analyze Database

Analyzing the database looks at any queries made and organizes them by those most commonly used. This function, when run regularly, will help limit time delays when querying the database on an ongoing basis.

  1. In the System Setup section, select System Setup and Maintenance.

  2. On the System Setup and Maintenance page, select the Setting tab.

  3. In the Database Maintenance section, click Analyze Database.

The function is complete when the page reloads.

Information

It is recommended that this function is run every couple of weeks to help ensure Penelope runs at optimum performance.

Licenses

This section shows the list of Penelope licenses for your agency. If the license has a red dot next to it, it indicates that it is invalid (expired, incorrect etc.). If you have questions regarding your licenses, please contact the Penelope Support Team.


Session Tab

The Session tab displays a list of all logged in users and information about their current session. It is a useful tool for monitoring current license usage.
