Getting Started with the SaaS Preview Database
Updated over 9 months ago

The Penelope Preview database comes pre-populated by Bonterra Software with case and sample data allowing your agency to preview and test existing features that may not have been used by your agency in the past.

What can the Preview Database do?

Available features include:

  • ClientConnect

  • Engage

  • Billing

  • Pre-Enrollment

  • Collaboration suite

  • Messages/Discussions

  • Action Triggers/Workflows

  • Secure Services

  • Anonymous Service and much more.

Important Information

As new features are introduced these will also be made available in the preview database.

What can the Preview Database not do?

The following functionality will be disabled on the Preview database as a precaution to allow for testing and training use:

  • MS Exchange

  • External Communications

  • Credit Card Production mode

  • DSS System Production mode

  • Attachments are deleted on upgrade

To use any of these features on the Preview Database you will need to enter your own credentials/data.

What needs to be configured?

When first logging in as a System Administrator (SA) you will need to set up the Workers that want/need to access the Preview Environment.

Good candidates for this would include:

Key staff with knowledge of business processes who would be able to assess whether you’d use a feature.

Turning a feature on in the Preview Database allows you to explore a new and existing feature so you don’t impact staff training or production data.

How to Login to the Preview Environment

To login to the Preview Environment ask your System Administrator for the URL and your username and password. The username and password may not be the same as your usual login credentials.

For security reasons, we recommend that you do not set your password to the same as your Production environment.

How Many Users Can Access the Preview Environment

The Preview Environment has the same number of licenses as your Production Database (i.e. the number listed in your contract).

Suggested Workflows to Test

Good workflows to test in the Preview Environment include:

  • Intake processes

  • Event booking processes

  • Service exit processes

  • Allocations

  • Waitlist / Pre-Enrollment Management
