Sometimes an IRL friend wants to join your game or maybe a cool new GM friend that you met in the StartPlaying Discord. You're a cool human who doesn't want to charge them for this session.
What does the Add Player button do?
The Add Player button lets you add a player to your game for free.
When should I use the Add Player button?
You should only use the Add Player button if you are ok:
Not charging them for a seat, and
Automatically approving them in your game
The kinds of players you might want to use the Add Player button for are:
Friends
Family
Coworkers
Game Masters doing a seat swap
How to Add Players to a Game for Free
1. Go to your Listings Page
2. Go to Your Adventure
You can click on the name of the Adventure, or click the 3 dots and click Edit
3. Click Add Player at the top of the page
4. Type in the player's StartPlaying email address, and click Add
Players added in this way will not be charged and will be automatically approved.
You can only add players who have a StartPlaying account.

Can I change a player I added to a paid player?
If you used the Add Player button to add a player, you cannot set their price above $0.
Game Masters (GMs) cannot raise a player's price above the price they signed up at. Since they signed up at $0, you cannot raise their price above $0.
To convert them to a paid player, they will need to leave the game and re-join.
