Quick Steps to Connect with Scopist & Proofreaders
1. Navigate to the Job Boards
Click the Job Boards menu tab in the main menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
Note for Mobile Devices & Tablets
If you're currently on a mobile device or tablet, you may need to select the Menu Icon (three lines) at the top left corner of the screen to open the main menu.
2. Choose Scoping or Proofing Tab
When you navigate to the job boards, you'll land on the Scoping Jobs tab. If you're looking for a scopist, you're in the right place!
However, if you're looking for a proofreader, click the Proofreading Jobs tab in the purple menu bar on the left side of the screen.
3. Click the Hire Help Button
Click the Hire Help button to open up a text box.
4. Write Your Post
For best results, write a post about a specific transcript you need help with. Include any relevant details and create clear expectations. Read all about how to write a GREAT job post here.
5. Click Post to Publish
Once you're finished writing your post, click the purple Post button! Your new job post will publish to the scoping or proofing job board, and the appropriate teammate candidates will be notified via email and within the platform via the notification (bell) icon.

Notifications for Scopists
Stenovate specifically notifies scopists on *your* CAT software that you're seeking help.
Notifications for Proofreaders
When you create a post in the Proofing Job Board, ALL proofreaders are notified, so be sure to specify whether you're seeing a PDF or CAT software proofreader.
Scopists or proofreaders who are available and interested in assisting you can respond directly to the job post or private message you via the built-in chat tool in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Notifications to Reporters
When scopists or proofreaders respond, you'll be notified via email as well as within the Stenovate platform.
Web application notifications are found at the top right corner by pressing the Notification Icon (Bell).
Once you have a response (or multiple), you can easily vet scopists and proofreaders by viewing their profile, which includes ratings & reviews. Most scopists and proofreaders also upload a rate sheet directly to their profiles. Learn more about Ratings & Reviews here.
