Easily export and send PDFs via email to your proofreader

Updated over a week ago

Although Stenovate is designed for file sharing between reporters, scopists, and proofreaders as one of its many transcript organization and collaboration features, some still prefer using email to receive PDF files via email or as a backup.

Here are the simple steps for sending PDF files from Case CAT via email.

Quick Steps

  1. Open the Print Box (Ctrl+P)

  2. Choose the page range of your PDF

  3. Click Print

  4. Add the page range into the name of the file

  5. Check "Attach to e-mail"

  6. Add the email recipient, subject line, and send!

Open the Print Box (Ctrl+P)

Press control plus P to open the print box. The Printer should read "Stenograph PDF Printer." If it doesn't, click the dropdown menu and change the printer.

Choose the page range of your PDF

You can export the entire document or a page range. If you'd like to export a page range (like pages 1-50), select Pages under Range (bottom right-hand corner).

Click Print

Click Print in the bottom left-hand corner, and a new box will appear, asking where you'd like to save the file and what to name the file.

Add the page range into the name of the file

It's helpful to include the page range in the file name. We recommend simply adding the page range at the end, like 1-50, so it's clear for your proofreader.

Check Attach to Email and click Save

Once you've named the file, including the page range and selected where to save the file (default goes to your normal CC folder), click the Attach to Email checkbox, and then click Save on the right.

Add Email Recipient, Subject Line & Send

Your email client should open up with the PDF already attached! Now all you need to do is add an email recipient, add a subject line, and send!
