Requesting a Payment

You can request a payment from a client in several places by looking for the 'Client Payments' card on the right hand side of the page.

Note - The amount requested and paid by your client will be inclusive of VAT, as long as you entered your VAT number in the connected Stripe account. If your Stripe account does not have your VAT number added, the amount requested and paid will be without VAT.

Depending on who you are requesting payment from you can find the Client Payments card on the sales applicant, sales offers, sales progression, owner and property pages.

By clicking the 'request a payment' button you can choose who should receive the notification for payment and what service/s you want to charge for.

Note - Any services that are charger per person will create a single payment request for the total amount. For example, an AML check at £50 person for two owners will create a single £100 payment request. It is not possible for each person to pay their individual share of the charge.

By default the amount of each service will reflect what has been setup in your Client Payment settings however if you have a role with the permission 'Allow this user to edit client payment amounts when requesting payment' enabled, you will see the 'edit prices' option, allowing you to override the pre-set amount. This is useful when offering a gesture of goodwill or discount to a client. For more information on roles and permissions, see this help article.

Finally you can preview and edit the email that will be sent to the client. This will use the 'request a payment' template by default however this template can be edited from within your correspondence template settings.

Tip - For AML checks, you can also request payment directly from the AML card.

Once the payment has been requested the client will now need to log in to their Street account, either via app or desktop/browser.

For more information on how clients make payment, see our Client Making Payment help article.
