Default Owner Charges

If you manage your client accounting in Street you can add owner charges directly from the lettings application page itself, ensuring all fees are added ahead of the tenancy starting and rent coming in. Additionally, Street will automatically detect any upfront fees that were added during the lettings instruction and prompt you to add these.

Note - This feature allows you to add one off charges only and does not accommodate adding recurring charges.

From the lettings application page click into the Charges tile.

Note - To access the Charges tile you will need a role with the permission 'Allow this user to manage client accounting' enabled.

For more information, see our Roles and Permissions help article.

Instruction Fee

From here you will see a blue banner showing the up front fee from the lettings instruction allowing you to quickly add the charge using the 'add lettings fee' button. This automatically fill the amount and description from the instruction to save the charge to the owner ledger.

Once saved the blue instruction banner will disappear and the charge will show in the table of charges.

Additional Charges

As well as the instruction fee, you can add additional charges using the 'add charge' button at the top right. From here you will see the normal add charge popup where you can add the relevant details and save the charge to the owner ledger. Once saved, the additional charge will appear in the table, along with any other charges.

Management Fee

If you have completed the Tenancy Agreement > Confirm Tenancy Details section of the application, you will also see the management fee in the table of charges.

However it's important to note that the management fee displaying here won't add any management charges to the owner ledger and is just a visual indicator so you can see what the management fee charge will be when it automatically generates when the tenancy rent charge is allocated to.

Void / Edit Application Charges

Any owner charges added on the lettings application can be edited or voided by clicking the three dot menu on the right hand side of the charge.

Completing the Charges tile

With all of your charges added click the 'mark as complete' button on the charges tile and the charges will generate on the owner ledger, ready to be allocated to via Allocate Funds when money is available.
