Solicitors within a Sale

Solicitor information is an extremely important part of the sales process as their details are required to generate the memorandum of sale.

Solicitors can be added to vendors and applicants at various stages of their journey, not just at the sale stage. Once solicitors have been added, they will show throughout the journey, so you don't need to re-add it.

However it's important to note you will need to have added the Solicitor Firm and Solicitor set up in your branch settings first, though this should have been handled during your onboarding to Street. For information, see our Solicitors help article.

Adding a Solicitor to an Applicant

Registered sales applicants can have their solicitor information added, before an offer is even submitted. From the applicant page, scroll down to the solicitor card on the right hand side where you can add the solicitor's details.

Adding a Solicitor to an Owner

Owners can have their solicitor's information added on their owner page. From the property page, click into the owner name to access the owner page.

From there, click the solicitor tab to add their details.

Adding a Solicitor on a Sales Offer

Solicitor information for both vendors and applicants can be added during the sales offer page, by clicking the add solicitor buttons at the top right.

Additionally once a sales offer has been made, the Buyer Ready feature will activate for the applicant, if enabled in your branch settings, allowing applicants to submit their solicitor details via the Street Consumer app.

You'll see the buyer ready card on both the sales applicant and the sales offer pages.

Adding a Solicitor at Sale stage

You can also add solicitor details at the sale stage, if they've not been added yet.

Updating Solicitor Information

You can easily update a vendor's or applicant's solicitor from any of the locations shown above by clicking the 'edit solicitor' button.

Note - Updating solicitor information will not automatically update the memorandum of sale. If you edit a solicitor, you'll need to re-generate the memorandum of sale by clicking on the 'memo of sale' dropdown on the Sales Progression page and clicking 'update'.

For more information, see our Memorandum of Sale help article.

If you need to edit the actual solicitors information, such as their name or address, you'll need to be a Branch Admin and head to your branch settings > solicitors. From here you can update the individual solicitor details. For more information, see our Solicitors help article.

Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
