Adding a Company Record
Company records can be created and used instead of people, where the owner, applicant or contractor is a company. The workflow is generally the same as adding a person with a few minor changes.
Note - It is not possible to delete a company record once it has been created due to how interlinked companies are with other areas of the system so please be careful when creating companys.
Adding a Company as an Owner
A company can be added as an owner of a property in a few different ways. Firstly when creating a property or a valuation you have the option of selecting 'owner is a company'.
Alternatively if the property already exists but you need to update the owner to be the company, head to the property page and click on the current owner. On the owner page click the bin icon to replace the existing owner and then click the 'owner is a company' option.

Adding a Company as an Applicant
A company can be added as an applicant in a similar way to an owner either when creating a sales / lettings applicant and clicking the 'applicant is a company'.
Or when editing an existing applicant by going to the applicant page and clicking the bin icon on the existing person to replace them and select 'applicant is an owner'.
Adding a Company as a Contractor
To add a company as a contractor, head to the Contractors table and click actions at the top right > add contractor. For more information, see our Adding a Contractor help article.
From here you'll see the add contractor page and can use the company search.
Searching a Company
To add the company to an owner / applicant / contractor, you will need to search for them in the 'company search' box. If they already exist in your account, simply select them as you would with a person record and continue with the normal workflow.
Creating a Company
If they don't exist you will need to click the 'create company' option to create them. From here you'll need to enter their key details including company name and number, email address, phone number and address.
When creating a company, you will also need to select a person (or people) to be part of that company.
Note - It is not possible to create a company without any people attached.
When ready click 'create company' and the company will now be selected, ready for you to proceed with the create owner / applicant / contractor workflow.
Editing an existing Company Record
To edit an existing company record, use the global search bar at the top of Street to access their company page.
From here you can edit the company's details using the pencil icons.
Note - If the company is a contractor, you can also edit their trades by clicking the 'Manage' drop down at the top right.
If you need to add or remove people from the company, you can use the bin or + icons.
When adding additional people to a company you will see two options for contact preferences, allowing you to control if that person should receive communications (for example viewing confirmation, or a maintenance job works order) and if that person should be included in any legal documentation (for example in AML checks or a memorandum of sale).
