Creating a Sales Applicant

When creating a sales applicant in Street, it's important to remember the Single Source of Truth concept, whereby the 'person' attached to a sales applicant card should only exist once however that person may have multiple sales applicant cards setup. This ensures all applicant cards link back to a single person for an accurate data trail.

There are a few different ways of creating Sales applicants in Street, depending on how that applicant got in touch.

Via Quick Add

If a potential applicant calls or comes into the office to register you can do this using via Quick Add, clicking the + (plus) icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen > sales applicant.

Via the Enquiry Centre

When an Enquiry is received via Street it will show up in the Enquiry Centre. From the enquiry you can click the 'create applicant' button.

Note - In some occasions the person enquiring may already have an applicant card setup, in which case you will see 'view applicant' instead.

Via a Person Page

If a person already exists in your system and has reached out with new interest in buying, you can go to their Person page and click the 'create applicant' option on the right hand side.

Create Sales Applicant Page

From the create sales applicant page you will either see the person already selected (when creating from an enquiry or person page) or will need to search for a person / add a new person if they don't already exist in your system (when creating from the quick add option).

With the person selected, you now need to complete their additional settings, requirements and preferences.

Follow Up

The follow up (optional) box can be used to set a follow up Task for a set date, useful as a reminder to each out to the applicant for an update on their search, buying position etc. This task will be unassigned initially but can be assigned once the applicant is created.

Basic Requirements

Within basic requirements you can set their budget, bedroom and bathroom preferences and areas they are interested.

Areas are setup in your company settings and allow you to outline where the applicant is looking to buy. For more information, see our Areas (Company Settings) help article.

Position

Within the position section you can enter the applicant's buying and financial positions.

If you select 'property to sell' in the buying position section, an additional setting will appear called 'Selling in my company branch patch'. If you toggle this on you can then select the branch patch they are selling in which will send an email to that branch's email address to inform them of possible opportunity.

Additionally, you can create a mortgage referral here using our Partner Platform. Creating a referral will send the applicant's details to the select partner who can follow up with the applicant directly. Alternatively you can select a reason for not referring, possibly coming back to them as a referral opportunity in future. For more information, see our Partner Platform Overview help article.

Preferences

Next up is the applicant's preferences. These sections, along with their budget, bedroom and bathroom preferences are used when generating their PerfectMatch as well as applicant and property matches so it's important this data is entered correctly and in as much detail as possible.

Main Property Preferences

In the main property preferences section you will need to select what types and styles of property the applicant is and is not interested in, eg detached house, flat or bungalow, using the scale from won't consider to must have.

Detailed Property Preferences

Within the detailed property preferences there are some additional options such as outside space, garage and parking space, new build, if the property requires work and land.

Additional Information

Finally the additional information section allows you to add any notes about the applicant (that will store on the activity stream), enter their lead source and who the applicant should be assigned to.
