Notification Preferences
Street is designed to automate as many processes as possible to give you the time to focus on other tasks. One of the most impactful automated features is Notification Preferences. Many actions in Street can trigger an automated email and/or SMS to be sent to the relevant recipients.
This article will explain how to edit the content of these automate notifications however for more information on how these notifications work, see our Notification Preferences (Settings) help article.
Editing Notification Content
Automated notifications can be edited at both company and branch level. If you want the changes to apply to all branches then use the company level settings. If each branch wants to have their own templates, you should edit these at the branch level settings.
Note - If you edit a notification content at both company and branch level, the branch notification content will be used.
To edit notification content, head to Settings > then either Company or Branch settings (depending at what level you are planning to edit) > Notification Preferences. From here, click the Edit Notification Content button at the top right.
Note - To access the edit notification content settings you will need to be a Branch or Company admin (depending which section you are editing) and have a role with the permission 'Allow this user to edit notification content' enabled.
For more information, see our Roles and Permissions help article.
Edit Notification Content
When you click into 'Edit Notification Content' you will be presented with a list of all automated emails from Street.
From here, you can click into each notification and edit the template, making use of the merge fields on the right hand side to automatically populate the email with content from your Street account. From here you can also edit the subject of the email using the subject field. The subject entered here is what will show to the recipient.
You also have the option of the 'preview' button to preview what the email will look like.
Note - It is not possible to edit the content of SMS notifications, you can only edit the content of email notifications.
On the right hand side, the 'general' tab lets you choose what email address that email should be sent from as well as what email address replies from clients should go to.
The button is a customisable link on an automated email that drives your recipient straight into their next step, like booking a viewing. The button tab lets you further customise what the button on that email will look like, including both branding and the text.
You can also add more than one button to a notification. Each button has its own label and its own external link, and buttons can be added, reordered and removed independently — so one notification can point to several destinations, for example a review page, a booking form and your company website. You can add a maximum of two buttons to every notification.
You can use the move icon on the left of a button to drag and reorder your buttons, or click the red minus icon on the right to remove a button.
Note - Notifications that already use a single button are unaffected and continue to work as before.
In some cases, like the Auto Responder notification, you will also have a choice of what that button should do. For example, let the client book a viewing online or complete the pre qualification questionnaire.
Delete Notification Content
If you have edited an individual notification content you will see a red bin icon on the right hand side of that notification.
Clicking this will remove any edits that have been made and revert the notification back to it's default. If you delete a branch notification content, the system will revert back to using the company setting notification content instead.
