Campaign Manager Guide & FAQs

Overview

šŸ’” Campaign Manager is your hub for managing your campaigns.

Using Campaign Manager

šŸ’” Campaign Manager is where you can create, view, and manage your campaigns. Find a step-by-step breakdown on how to create, manage, and edit campaigns, below, along with a few helpful tips and frequently asked questions.

Campaign Summary

Campaign overview is your one-stop-shop for checking in on the campaigns you have in the system. Here, you can click onto each campaign card and see high-level performance insights, as well as a live map of where the vehicles in this campaign are on in real-time (this refreshes every 25 seconds as the time-clock in the upper left corner shows).

This page is easily searchable, but you can also filter by the status of your campaigns (All, In Progress, Upcoming, Expired). Your campaigns are sorted in chronological order of their campaign dates.

Key Tips:

  • Make sure to check out the "Non Reporting Vehicles" stat on the campaign card to ensure your vehicles are on the road

  • Editing a campaign is seamless from this view, hover over your campaign and select "Edit campaign"

  • The "View Assets" button is a shortcut to seeing high-level insight into the performance of the individual vehicles on the campaign

Campaign List View

Campaign List View let's users see all campaigns, and high-level insights, in one place. This table allows you to filter down to understand how campaigns across markets compare to one another.

The best part is, all of this list data is easily exportable from the right side of the table.

Create a campaign

Find this under Campaign Manager within the platform

Step 1: Create a name for the campaign (i.e. McDonalds Fall 2023)

Step 2: Select the market for the campaign in the next drop down menu

Step 3: Create an Ad Group

Ad Group Configuration

These were created so campaigns could be much more flexible and customizable. Each campaign consists of one or more Ad Groups. Utilize Ad Groups to organize your vehicles with the same characteristics. Each Ad Group has a unique Asset Owner and Media Product. Many operators find it helpful to base their Ad Groups on the media type, media position, posting dates, or creative (messaging) that appear on their ads.

Example Ad Group Scenarios:

One campaign, multiple media formats (King ad group, USK ad group)

One campaign, multiple markets (Dallas ad group, San Diego ad group)

One campaign, multiple start dates (First Fleet ad group, Second fleet ad group)

One campaign, multiple creatives (USK Spanish ad group, USK English ad group)

**When pulling reports, you can pull insights comprehensively or by Ad Group, to compare how different groups of vehicles performed.**

Step 4: Create a group name that is distinct and unique enough to identify. We recommend giving the Ad Group a unique name based on that Ad Group's common theme. (i.e. McDonalds_USKs_Sept 2023)

Step 6: Select the Asset Owner - this is either the Transit Authority or GPS Provider (this should already be in the system for your selection)

Step 7: Select the Media Product (this should also already be in the system)

Step 8: Select the correct positions of the media product (this is crucial as it will help StreetMetrics set the visibility cone)

Step 9: Once you've made all of the above selections, all vehicles will auto-populate in the vehicle selector tool. From here, you will go through the list and select all the vehicles in this specific campaign. Here, you can either manually select all the vehicles in the campaign, or upload them by downloading the templated CSV file, filling it out and re-uploading.

Step 10: Once you've selected all the vehicles or uploaded them via CSV file, you'll want to filter through the navy blue chart for the group/display name that was created earlier.

Step 11: At this point, all vehicles in the campaign should be selected and you'll then click "Save Ad Group." If you'd like to duplicate the campaign but with different vehicles, click, "Copy Ad Group."

If you're duplicating an ad group, be sure to go through and unselect the vehicles from the original campaign.

You're able to make as many ad groups as you'd like.

Step 12: Once you're satisfied with the number of campaigns, hit "Submit Campaign."

Note: it can take some time for your campaigns to show up in the "Overview" page, but you can immediately go to the reporting tool and pull a report of your new campaign.

Editing a campaign

Begin on the platform home page.

Step 1: Use either "Quick Navigation" or the side tool bar and select "Campaign Manager." Here all your campaigns will pop up.

Step 2: Select the campaign you'd like to make edits to.

Step 3: Make any edits. Once your desired edits are made, be sure to hit "Save Ad Group," and "Submit Campaign."

FAQs

šŸ’” Common questions and things to know when using Campaign Manager:

What are 'Active Markets'?

Active markets shows the markets in which operators have activated to run campaigns. StreetMetrics must activate each market before a campaign goes live in that market. Getting a market activated happens during the campaign creation process. Reach out to a StreetMetrics representative to help.

What does 'Inactive' mean?

Inactive shows the number of campaigns that have ended. These campaigns have 100% completion and an "expired" tag next to them.

Why does a vehicle with a different asset owner appear in the 'Select Vehicles' table even though there is a specific asset owner selected above?

The vehicle appearing in the table was assigned an asset class that is associated to a different asset owner. We recommend finding the specific vehicle(s) with incorrect assignment in the Assets Manager page and reassign the vehicle(s) to the correct asset class.

Why aren't vehicles showing up in the 'Vehicle Selections' table?

Make sure the Asset Owner and Media Product fields are filled. Without these two fields, the vehicles will not appear in the 'Select Vehicles' table.

If Asset Owner and Media Product are filled:

* Are the vehicles assigned to the correct Asset Class in the Asset Manager?

* Are the vehicles onboarded to the platform?

* Is the API Integration complete?

Another issue could be that the vehicle is not coming through the feed.

What information is required to create an Ad Group?

The fields required in order to create an Ad Group include:

  • Group Name*

  • Start Date*

  • End Date*

  • Asset Owner*

  • Media Product*

  • Position*
