Objective

Gain control over the categorization process, leading to tailored and efficient procurement operations.

Streamlined access to categorized materials enables better planning and allocation on the job site, enhancing daily workflow efficiency and reducing time and effort to create field requisitions.

Background

Company Items are designed to be a master list of all of the materials that your team members are ordering for all projects. Company Items empower your organization to create consistency around the items that field teams are requesting, as well as effectively track inventory of these items from both a project and warehouse perspective.

Creating groupings for your items is valuable because they make finding items more efficient through browse-friendly categorization.

Points to Consider

  • System Admin permission is required to access System Settings > Catalog Categories.

  • Users can search Company Items when building a material list regardless of the Catalog Categories that the item resides in.

    • Simply enter item keywords in the search bar and select the needed item when results appear.

Manually Create Catalog Categories

  • In System Settings, click on the + button at the top

  • Enter the new top-level Category Name

  • Hover over a Category to reveal additional options

  • Plus Icon - Add a new sub-category

  • Pencil Icon - Edit an existing category name

  • Trash Icon - Delete this category (only allowed if no items belong to this category)

  • Photo Icon - Add an Image URL

    • This must be a link to an image on a website

    • Once you have found the image you want to use, right click > copy image address, then paste
