Objective

Understand the accepted Units of Measure in StructShare.

Background

StructShare has a standard list of available Units of Measure that can be added or imported with items in your Items Database, Warehouses and Bill of Materials. We also limit the ability to add a new unit of measure using the ‘Free Text’ option during order creation. You will see a unified name for all Units of Measure and a short title throughout the system, E.g. Each and ea.

Things to Consider

  • If you import a Unit of Measure that does not exist in StructShare but the plural or abbreviation of the unit is on our list, the item will be added with the associated Unit of Measure that exists in StructShare.

  • If the Unit of Measure does not exist, you will receive an error.

  • For any items that are already in your database with a Unit of Measure that is not part of our list, you will be prompted to add a Unit of Measure from our list when this item is added to an order for the first time. This will automatically update the Unit of Measure in the source the chosen item was selected from based on the order selection.
