Do you offer promo codes, discounts, or creator/media offers?

Written by Chloe

We run promo codes and limited-time offers from time to time. This article explains the general rules for using promo codes, how we handle creator and media inquiries, and how you can try Subanana for free before subscribing.

Are there any promo codes or discounts available right now?

Promo codes and promotions are limited-time offers rather than something we provide permanently, so we don't keep a list of specific codes here. If you already have a valid promo code, you can enter it in the promo code field when you reach the payment page (the Stripe checkout page); whether it applies successfully depends on the code's conditions at the time (see "Why isn't my promo code working?" below).

To find out whether any offers are currently running, email hello@subanana.com or ask us in the in-app live chat, and we'll let you know what's available at the time.

Why isn't my promo code working?

If a promo code won't apply at checkout, it may be for one of the following reasons:

  • Some promo codes only apply to first-time subscriptions; if your account already has a subscription history, the code can't be applied.

  • The promotion has ended, so the code has expired and can no longer be used.

  • Some promo codes can only be used when subscribing to specific plans, or only on orders above a certain amount.

  • If you subscribed through a friend's referral link and the referral discount was applied automatically, you may not be able to enter another promo code on top of it for that order.

Is there a referral offer?

We have a referral program (the in-app "Invite friends" feature): you can get your personal referral link on the "Invite friends" page in the app's left-side menu and share it with friends. When someone subscribes for the first time through your link, the referral discount is applied automatically to eligible orders — no promo code needed. The exact form and amount of the discount are shown on the checkout page, where you can review them before confirming payment.

Do creators, journalists, or media get special offers?

If you're a content creator, journalist, or media professional and would like to ask about a collaboration or a special arrangement, feel free to email hello@subanana.com with a brief note on who you are and how you plan to use Subanana, and we'll reply case by case.

Try it for free — no promo code needed

Before you decide to subscribe, you can try Subanana for free:

  • File processing (subtitle generation, transcripts, AI meeting summaries): generate the first 15 minutes of any uploaded file for free.

  • Real-time transcription and translation: the free trial is capped at 5 minutes (this allowance is counted separately from the 15-minute file-processing allowance above).

If you decide to upgrade after trying it out, you can then use "Continue generating transcript / Continue generating subtitles" on the same uploaded file in the editor. The system picks up where the free 15 minutes left off and generates the rest — no need to re-upload, and only the remaining duration is deducted from your usage. (Free accounts see an upgrade prompt when the 15-minute preview ends; this option only appears after you upgrade.)

Also note that videos exported on the Free plan carry a default watermark and can only be exported at up to 720p; to export videos without a watermark or at higher resolutions, please upgrade to a paid plan.

Plan pricing

Standard plans (billed annually, average monthly price):

  • Lite — HK$68 per month (billed annually), 720 minutes per year.

  • Pro — HK$138 per month (billed annually), 2,160 minutes per year.

  • Max — HK$398 per month (billed annually), 7,200 minutes per year.

Customers overseas / outside Hong Kong are billed in US dollars (USD); the exact amount is shown in the app, and you can review it before confirming payment. If you have any questions, feel free to email hello@subanana.com.
