When you've used up your plan's transcription usage (minutes), you can buy extra transcription usage, or upgrade/switch to a higher plan. Here's how to check the price, and the difference between buying extra usage and upgrading.
How do I check the price of extra usage?
Extra usage is a one-time purchase — not a new subscription. The per-minute rate depends on your current plan; the actual price for your account is shown on the purchase confirmation page, and you only pay after you confirm. The amount shown on the purchase page in the app is what applies.
To buy more: in the app, open the plans page, choose "Add-ons", and buy the number of minutes you need; the extra minutes are added to your available usage right away.
Purchased extra minutes have no cycle limit — they don't reset when your subscription renews, and they stay available until used up.
Usage included in each plan
If you consistently need more usage, upgrading your plan is usually better value. The plans (billed annually) are as follows:
• Lite: HK$68 per month (billed annually), 720 minutes per year
• Pro: HK$138 per month (billed annually), 2,160 minutes per year
• Max: HK$398 per month (billed annually), 7,200 minutes per year (already includes 1,440 bonus minutes offered free for a limited time)
Paid plans are priced in both Hong Kong dollars (HKD) and US dollars (USD); users outside Hong Kong are billed in USD, with the amount shown in the app. If you need more usage or organizational billing arrangements, contact us about our Enterprise plan, which uses custom pricing (feel free to email hello@subanana.com). A Team plan for teams is coming soon — keep an eye out for our updates.
Buy extra usage, or upgrade your plan?
• Buying extra usage: best when you temporarily need more minutes within your current plan cycle. Purchased minutes don't reset when your subscription renews and stay available until used up.
• Upgrading or changing your plan: best when you need more usage long term. An upgrade takes effect immediately; your current remaining transcription minutes are fully preserved and carried over to the new plan (a time accumulation and carry-over mechanism, not a prorated refund of the difference), and you also get the new plan's advanced features. After upgrading, your original plan is automatically canceled and replaced by the new one.
Note: the actual price of extra usage is the amount shown on the purchase page in the app. As for refunds, the current plan cycle is generally non-refundable; individual situations are handled case by case.
