What is the "Wallet Pass" feature?
A Wallet Pass is a digital version of a physical card—such as a loyalty card, membership card, or gift card—that customers can add to their Apple Wallet. It can be dynamically updated with your branding, balances, and push notifications.
Note: Support for Google Wallet will be available in the future.
What is the "Push Notification" feature?
The Push Notification feature allows you to send real-time messages—such as promotions, reminders, or location-based alerts—to customers’ Apple Wallet passes. Campaign notifications can be deleted by the user after they appear, while geo-triggered notifications automatically disappear only when the user leaves the designated location—they can't be manually dismissed.
Why is the "Push Notification" needed?
The Push Notification feature is essential because it allows businesses to deliver timely, relevant messages directly to their customers' mobile devices via the Wallet Pass—without requiring a separate app. Whether it’s a location-based alert, a promotional campaign, or a balance reminder, these notifications help drive engagement, encourage repeat visits, and prompt immediate action, ultimately enhancing the overall customer experience and boosting brand loyalty.
