Case Total Overview

The landing page for Economics is called the Case Financials tab. The page is designed to provide a visual representation of key data points from the more detailed line item ledger. We’ve introduced the Case Total Overview section to communicate the current financial state of the case.

A single bar graph represents the Total Charges for the case, meaning all of the billed amounts across all providers. That value is represented as the Total Billed amount on the very left of the card and by the salmon colored bar.

Displayed above the Total Billed amount are each of the segments of the graph representing the Total Adjustments, Total Insurance Payments, Total Patient Payments, and any Outstanding Balances associated with your bills.

The bar is segmented visually to give you a quick visual guide to understanding what percentage of the total charges has been paid for, is left outstanding, or has been adjusted down from the original amount.

A legend for how to read the bar graph is displayed underneath the section to help.

Payment, Lien, and Total Charges Table

In addition to giving you the Billed Amount and Lien breakdown, we have also incorporated the breakdown of Insurance Payments by Payer. Each segment is viewable in its own tab, which also contains a table of Amounts per Provider, Lien Holder, or Insurance Carrier.

Each of these is accompanied by a visual bar graph which corresponds to how much of the overall value is covered by each Payor/Provider/Lien Holder. This will help you distinguish at a glance which entity may require your most immediate attention as the primary holder of the case value.

In order to toggle between each of the tables, simply click on the desired tab and the data underneath will update to show the corresponding set.

Insurance Payment Against Liens

An additional data point has been added to this page to make the comparison of Insurance Payments to Liens easier than ever to assess. The card on the right to the table will show you how the total Insurance Payment amount tracks against your known liens, making it easy to see quickly if you are missing a primary lien holder.
