Connecting With Cloud Storage Providers

Within Supio, you can easily connect to one of our cloud based storage systems to easily bring case files into Supio

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Connecting Your Cloud Storage

Sync your firm's files directly to Supio by connecting a cloud storage provider like SharePoint, OneDrive, or Dropbox. Once connected, your team can access case files without ever leaving the platform.

Before You Begin

Because this is a global connection, it is shared across your entire firm — meaning one user authenticates on behalf of everyone. Before setting up the integration, please keep the following in mind:

Important: The account used to authorize the connection must have visibility and access to all relevant cases and case files your firm intends to use within the platform. We strongly recommend using a dedicated service account (e.g., legalfiles@yourfirm.com) rather than a personal user account. This ensures the connection remains stable if an individual employee's account changes or is deactivated.

Who should set this up? Typically, this is completed by a firm administrator or IT contact who has the appropriate permissions in your cloud storage environment.

Supported Providers

  • Microsoft SharePoint

  • Microsoft OneDrive

  • Dropbox

How to Connect

  1. Login to your cloud storage provider

To ensure the right account is integrated with Supio, login to the user seat you want to authenticate with before logging into Supio.

  2. Navigate to Apps
From your Supio page, click on your initials in the top right corner, click the gear icon, go to Apps.

  3. Find your storage provider
Locate your preferred cloud storage provider from the list of available integrations.

  4. Click "Install"
Click the Install button next to your chosen provider. You will be redirected to that provider's authorization page.

  5. Review and authorize
On the provider's page, confirm that the account displayed is the correct account (i.e., the account with access to all necessary files). Then click Allow or Authorize to complete the connection.

  6. Return to the platform
Once authorized, you'll be redirected back to the platform. The integration will show as Installed, and your cloud storage will be accessible across the firm.

Important Considerations

Consideration

Details

Global connection

The integration is firm-wide. One authenticated account grants access for all users on the platform.

Account access

The authenticating account must have access to all cases and folders your team needs. Files or folders outside that account's permissions will not be accessible.

Service account recommended

Using a shared or service account prevents disruptions if the individual who set up the connection leaves the firm or changes roles.

Re-authentication

If the connection is ever lost (e.g., password change, account deactivation), an authorized admin will need to re-authenticate by repeating the steps above.

Troubleshooting

I clicked Install but was sent to the wrong account. Your browser may have cached credentials for a different account. Try opening the authorization flow in a private/incognito window, or sign out of your storage provider before clicking Install.

The connection shows as Connected, but files aren't appearing. Confirm that the authenticated account has the correct sharing and folder permissions in your cloud storage provider. A storage admin at your firm may need to adjust access settings.

The integration disconnected on its own. This can happen if the authenticating user's password was changed, their account was deactivated, or OAuth permissions were revoked. Navigate back to Settings → Apps and click Reinstall to reconnect.
