Transaction statuses explained - what each one means

A full guide to every transaction status on SwapX - what it means, what happened to your items, and what to do next.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Every transaction on SwapX goes through a series of statuses. Here's exactly what each one means - and what you should do if something looks wrong.

New

The transaction has been created and is waiting for our bot to send you a trade offer on Steam. This usually takes just a few seconds.

πŸ’‘ If the status stays at New for more than a minute, check that your Trade URL is correct and up to date in your SwapX account settings.

Pending

The trade offer has been sent by our bot and is now waiting for you to accept it on Steam. You have 10 minutes to accept before the offer expires.

πŸ‘‰ Go to steamcommunity.com/my/tradeoffers or open the Steam mobile app under "Trade Offers" to find and accept the offer.

⚠️ If you have multiple items, you may receive offers from more than one bot β€” each must be accepted separately.

On Hold

You accepted the trade offer - great! The transaction is now in the Steam trade hold period. This is a standard 7-day security window applied by Steam to every transaction, during which the trade can still be reversed.

Your funds are visible in your SwapX account as an On Hold balance. Once the 7 days pass without cancellation, they move automatically to your Available balance.

πŸ’‘ Click on your On Hold balance to see a countdown timer for each transaction. Learn more about your balance β†’

Success

Everything went smoothly. The 7-day trade hold has expired, the transaction is final, and your funds have been moved to your Available balance. You can withdraw them at any time.

Canceled

The trade offer was sent by our bot, but it was never accepted within the 10-minute window. The transaction was automatically cancelled.

βœ… Your items are safe. They are still in your Steam inventory - nothing was sent to us.

You can go back to SwapX and start a new sale whenever you're ready.

Reverted

You accepted the trade offer on Steam, but then reversed the transaction during the On Hold period using Steam's trade cancellation feature. Steam returned your items to your inventory.

βœ… Your items are safe. They were returned to your Steam inventory when the trade was reversed.

⚠️ Any funds that appeared in your On Hold balance have been removed from your SwapX account.

You can sell your items again on SwapX at any time.

Failed

The transaction reached On Hold status (meaning you accepted the trade offer), but was later cancelled for a reason outside your control β€” for example, an issue with the market bot on our end.

βœ… Your items are secured. Our team is notified automatically when a Failed status occurs.

⚠️ Any On Hold funds have been removed from your SwapX balance while we investigate.

Please contact our support team and include your transaction ID so we can look into it and resolve it for you as quickly as possible.
