ELL Student Analytics: Individual Teachers

Learn how to mark students as ELL students, and view specialized engagement analytics for them.

Updated over a month ago

As a teacher, you might want to pay special attention to the engagement level of English-Language Learner (ELL) students and families. Teachers can mark any student as an ELL student on TalkingPoints, which will then be populated into your analytics dashboard, so you can see engagement by student type. Follow the instructions below for how to update students' ELL status.

Mark Students as ELL

Step 1: Under your class roster, click the checkboxes next to the student(s) you want to mark as ELL.

Step 2: Click 'Change ELL.' You have the option of Yes, No, and Unknown.

Step 3: Click your ELL selection, and in the pop-up box, select 'Change to Yes/No/Unknown' to confirm your action.

View Analytics for ELL Students

Step 1: Click the 'Analytics' tab.

Step 2: Click the checkbox next to 'Show ELL families.'

Step 3: The Activity graph will update to include additional bars for identifying messages and announcements sent to ELL families!
