Understanding ELL Status

Identify the different statuses of English Language Learner (ELL) students in your class roster.

Teachers can determine the English Language Learner (ELL) status of students in their classes. Identify the difference between the status types below.


  • A "Yes" in the column means that the student has an ELL status.

  • A "No" in the column means that the student does not have an ELL status.

  • A "-" in the column means that this data is not being shared with TalkingPoints.

  • In the 'Analytics' view, unshared information will show up as 'Unknown.'
