How do I send videos and photos?

Learn how to add photos and videos to a message, and about our file size limits.

Updated over a month ago

You can attach a video or photos when messaging families. The total size limit of attachments per message is 25MB. If you need to send a larger video, load it on YouTube or another video service and send the link through TalkingPoints.

iPhone "live photos" are not compatible with TalkingPoints. To learn how to save live photos as still photos to send to families, scroll to the bottom of this article.

Web:

Step 1: Click 'New Message,' and select either the direct message or announcement option.

Step 2: Click the portrait icon and choose the photo(s) or video you would like to upload.

You can also drag and drop an attachment into the body of the message thread.

Mobile:

Step 1: Within your announcement or direct message, tap the '+' button.

Step 2: Choose 'Camera' (in-app photo), 'Video' (In-app video), or 'Library' to select an existing photo/video from your phone's gallery.

Converting Live Photos to Still Images

There are two ways to do this, depending on what model iPhone you have. Most iPhone devices will show this first option when displaying a live photo.

Option A:

You will see the "Live" icon at the top of the screen when viewing the live photo. Tap it to turn off the live feature and convert it into a still image.

Option B:

Select the 'Share' icon, then 'Duplicate,' and lastly 'Duplicate as Still Photo' to save the image. You can now send this still image within TalkingPoints.
