The US education system has many terms and acronyms that families who are not directly involved in a career in education are not likely to know.
That's why we've added the TalkingPoints Ed 101 feature to the TalkingPoints for Families app. This feature is a glossary of educational terms identified for families if they appear throughout messages in the app.
Here's how it works:
If the app recognizes a term specific to the US educational system in a message, it will be highlighted. The family member can click on the highlighted term and it will show a simplified definition. Simplifying these terms increases the accessibility and understanding of shared information between teachers and families.
