Analytics: how the Benchmark tab works

Why the Benchmark tab can show 0 impressions or "you haven't posted yet", and how the monthly comparison is calculated.

The Benchmark tab in Analytics compares your LinkedIn performance with other creators. It works a bit differently from the rest of Analytics, which explains most cases where it shows 0 impressions or the message that you haven't posted yet.

📅 The benchmark is monthly, not live

Each month's benchmark is calculated on the 5th of the following month. For example, the October benchmark becomes available in early November. Until then, the most recent month you can see is the month before.

The month the benchmark is based on is shown next to Overview at the top of the tab. To see how you and your comparison group did over the last 3 months, click See history on any card.

📝 Only posts from the benchmark month count

Your side of the comparison only uses the posts you published on LinkedIn during the benchmark month. If you didn't publish anything in that month, the tab shows 0 impressions and the "haven't posted yet" message, even if you posted before or after it.

Posts from the current month only appear in that month's benchmark once it's calculated (on the 5th of the following month).

👥 Who you are compared with

By default, you are compared with creators who have a similar number of followers (your follower bracket). You can switch to creators in your country from the dropdown at the top right of the tab. The line under Overview shows which group you are currently compared with.

🏆 Where you rank and when to post

Further down the tab you'll find:

  • Where you rank: your overall standing across the six metrics compared with your group (1), and a card per metric. A metric marked Room to grow is your focus area for next month (2).

  • Time to post: engagement by day and hour. Switch between Just me (your own posts) and Everyone (all creators in your group) (3). The cards below show your best day, best hour and best weekly slot (4).

  • Share a win: click Share this win on a metric card, or use the Share a win section at the bottom, to turn a strong result into a LinkedIn-ready image.

❓ Still showing 0?
