Are you looking to provide your clients or team members with a Taplio account so you can handle all their content?
Here's how to set it up.
Note: Organizations (managing clients or team members from one account) are available on the Growth and Pro plans.
Setting up Taplio for your clients / collaborators
Adding new members to your Organization
The first step will be adding team members to your Organization. We have a dedicated help center resource detailing every step, but here’s a summary:
Head over to Settings > Team & Permissions
Add a client or team member to your Organization
The person receives an invitation to join your Organization, which they must accept. Send the invitation to the exact email address they use (or will use) for their Taplio account.
⚡ When they accept, your client or team member is added to your billing. The first charge is immediate and prorated. After that, they are charged on the day your billing cycle renews.
Make sure you give each new account the correct role.
⚡Roles:
Members → are part of the organization and can only manage their own account
Content Writer → can access any account of your Organization if they agreed to share their account with the rest of the Organization
Admin → can access any account of your Organization if they agreed to share their account with the rest of the Organization + handle billing, add members, etc.
Configure Taplio for each client or member
Finish the sign up process
Upon accepting the invitation to join your organization, new members will have to complete the regular sign up process to Taplio (with the exception that they don’t need to select a plan or add their card details).
1. They are doing the setup
In this case, you must use the member’s actual email (pro or personal) so that they are the ones to complete the entire sign up process, which includes connecting their account.
Install the Taplio Connect extension
Taplio Connect is our free companion extension for Taplio that is mandatory for Taplio usage.
You will need to ask the client or member to install Taplio Connect on their Chrome browser, while making sure they are also signed into their Taplio account within the same browser session.
2. I’m doing the setup (I have their LinkedIn credentials)
If you have access to the person’s account credentials (login & password) and don’t want them involved with your use of Taplio, you may create a new email for each member (or use an existing one which is not yet tied to a Taplio account) to send the invitation to, and then perform the sign up process without involving your client or collaborator.
In this case, you may install Taplio Connect on your own Chrome browser. However, we strongly recommend you create a Chrome profile for each client or member account.
Without separate Chrome profiles, you'll keep logging in and out of LinkedIn accounts. Each time you log out of LinkedIn, the session cookie the extension needs is deleted. This causes issues with posting carousels, fetching the client's statistics, and more.
After creating a Chrome profile for your client or collaborator, install Taplio Connect in it, log into their LinkedIn account, and sign into the matching Taplio account.
Access other accounts in your Organizations
Now that your setup is finished, you may access your client’s or collaborator’s Taplio account and perform all the actions you want (as long as you have an admin or content writer role).
Click your name in the bottom left corner, then select any account in the list to switch to it.
