When you set up a class schedule in Teach 'n Go, you can choose how often lessons repeat: Weekly, Bi-weekly, or Custom dates. This guide explains how Bi-weekly (also called fortnightly) scheduling works, and how to set the start date so your lessons land on the days you expect.
How bi-weekly scheduling works
With bi-weekly recurrence, each lesson day you choose repeats once every two weeks rather than every week.
You can add one or more days (for example, Monday and Friday).
Each day repeats on a two-week cycle.
The first lesson for each day is its first occurrence on or after the start date.
Example: A class with Monday and Friday selected, starting Monday 1 June, creates lessons on:
Mon 1 June and Fri 5 June
(the following week is skipped)
Mon 15 June and Fri 19 June
Mon 29 June and Fri 3 July, and so on.
Setting up a bi-weekly class
In the Class schedule step:
Under Select class recurrence, choose Bi-weekly.
Set the Start date and End date for the class.
Under Select the lesson days and times, choose a day and its start and end time.
Click + Add another day to add more lesson days.
Check the Total lessons preview to confirm the schedule looks right, then continue.
Choosing your start date
Because each day counts its two-week cycle from its own first lesson, the start date decides how your days are grouped.
When you select more than one day, set the start date to the earliest day you want lessons (or the day before it). This keeps all of your selected days together in the same two-week block.
Recommended: Monday and Friday selected, start on a Monday → both days fall in the same fortnight (Mon + Fri, skip a week, Mon + Fri).
Avoid: starting on a Friday when Monday is also selected → Monday's first lesson moves to the following week, so the two days end up in alternating weeks instead of pairing.
Always glance at the Total lessons preview before saving to confirm the dates are what you expect.
Good to know
The Total lessons and Skipped lessons counters update as you edit the schedule.
If School holidays are configured in School settings, those dates are skipped automatically.
You can add, edit, or remove individual lessons after the class is created.
