How to Enable Automatic App Updates on Your Smartphone

Keeping your apps updated is crucial for security and functionality. To ensure your TeachKloud apps and others are always up to date, you can set your smartphone to automatically update apps. Here’s how to do it on both Android and iOS devices.

For Android Users:

Enable Auto-Update for All Apps:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.

  2. Tap on the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Tap on Auto-update apps.

  5. Choose Over any network to update apps using either Wi-Fi or mobile data, or select Over Wi-Fi only to update only when connected to Wi-Fi.

Enable Auto-Update for Specific Apps (like TeachKloud):

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.

  2. Search for the TeachKloud app.

  3. Tap on the app to open its detail page.

  4. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.

  5. Check the box next to Enable Auto Update.

For iOS Users:

Enable Auto-Update for All Apps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Scroll down and tap iTunes & App Store.

  3. Under the Automatic Downloads section, toggle the App Updates switch to the on position (green).

Enable Auto-Update for Cellular Data:

  1. In the same iTunes & App Store settings, you can also toggle the Use Cellular Data option to allow updates over your mobile network.

Additional Tips:

  • Wi-Fi vs. Cellular Data: Be aware that updating over cellular data may incur charges depending on your data plan.

  • Manual Updates: Even with auto-updates enabled, it's a good idea to manually check for updates periodically, especially for critical apps like TeachKloud.

  • Battery Life: Keep in mind that updating apps can consume battery life, so it might be a good idea to update while your device is charging.
