I need help enabling notifications: TeachKloud for Parents
Updated over a week ago

If you are not receiving notifications, it could be due to notifications being missed by the receiver, if notifications are not set to persistent, an update requirement for the device or the childcare service has not sent you information, yet, particularly relevant for new parents.

To resolve the notification issue, follow ALL of the following steps:

Check the Notification Bell

The notification bell in the TeachKloud app displays all the alerts sent to your device. If you see notifications there, the app is functioning correctly, and any issues may be related to your device settings or permissions.

  • New Users: If you’ve recently downloaded the app, your childcare service may not have sent any updates yet. In this case, you may see a "No Records Available", or a similar message when you log in.

  • What to Expect: Once your childcare service shares updates, you’ll receive them through the app. Please be patient and ensure that notifications are enabled on your device to stay informed.

Update the App:

  • Ensure the TeachKloud for Parents app is updated to the latest version.

  • If you're unsure how to update, delete and reinstall the app from your app store to get the latest version.

Allow Permissions:

  • After updating or reinstalling the app, select “Allow” for all app permissions, when requested.

  • Then, go to your device settings, locate the TeachKloud for Parents app, and confirm that all permissions are enabled.

  • Ensure that the app is set to persistent notifications

  • Ensure that do not disturb, if applicable, is set to OFF, as turning on disturb not mode can hinder notifications.

Update Your Phone:

  • Ensure your device's (phone/tablet) operating system is updated to the latest version available.

  • Please note, if the phone or tablet is an older phone (i.e. iPhone 6) or tablet, that is no longer receiving support from the manufacturer, this will impede the phones user experience, as the manufacturer is no longer updating it. To ensure the best experience with TeachKloud, your device must be actively supported and regularly updated by the manufacturer. Using an outdated or unsupported device, may result in compatibility issues and limited functionality. For optimal performance, please keep your operating system and apps up to date.

New Parents

If you are a new parent and the app displays a no records available message or similar, then the childcare service has not shared anything with you. When they share information with you, the app will notify you and the app will display the relevant information.

If, after completing ALL of the steps above, you’re still NOT receiving notifications, please email hello@teachkloud.com with the following details:

  1. The name of the childcare service and your child's full name

  2. An example of a notification you didn’t receive (e.g., "I was sent a general comment on January 6, 2025, but did not receive a notification for it").

  3. The model of your device (e.g., iPhone 6 or Samsung Galaxy S20).

  4. The operating system and version your phone/tablet is using (e.g., iOS 16 or Android 12).
