Project Overview Tab: Your Client's Home Base

The Overview tab is a home base that lives inside every project. It's the first tab your client lands on, and you get to decide what's on it: a welcome video, a message from you, the links they need most, what's due, and when you're meeting next.

We built it because you wanted a client portal that's actually inside the project, not floating somewhere separate. So everything your client sees here is specific to the project they're in.

The page is split into three columns:

Oh, and you can restyle the whole thing to match the project, no CSS needed!

Left column: welcome video, message, and Quick Links

Loom video

Embed a Loom video at the top of the column. It's perfect for a welcome video when your client first starts a project, or a walkthrough of how the project will run. The video is optional, so skip it if you'd rather keep things simple.

Welcome message

Right under the video, you can add a custom message. Use it to say hello and set expectations at the beginning of a project, or treat it as a running update that you refresh each week with project status.

Quick Links

Quick Links are buttons that send your client straight to the things they need to find. Here are a few ideas for your project quick links:

  • Book a Call: link your main booking page so clients can schedule meetings without the email back-and-forth

  • Upload Web Copy: a shared Google Doc where they drop their website copy

  • Inspiration: your shared Pinterest board

You can choose a color and icon for each link so it feels on-brand.

Middle column: To-Do List

The To-Do List gives your client a quick look at what's happening right now and which tasks need their attention. By default, it automatically shows tasks that are overdue or due in the next two weeks. No setup required.

Want to narrow it down? Use the two filters at the top of the list:

  • Status: show only tasks with a certain status (for example, just the ones that are marked as For Review and Waiting on Client)

  • Assignee: show tasks assigned to a specific person, so your client can zero in on their own to-dos

Right column: Upcoming Meetings

Any meetings scheduled for this project show up here automatically, with the date, time, and meeting link.

Plans shifted? Click the … menu on a meeting to manage the booking, whether you need to make changes or cancel.

Customizing the design

Here's the fun part. By default, the Overview tab uses your main brand appearance settings (your colors and fonts). But every project can have its own look.

To customize it, click the settings icon (the gear) in the top-right corner of the banner. This opens Overview settings, which has three tabs: Banner, Content, and Quick Links.

Banner tab

Setting

What it changes

Banner image

The image across the top of the page. Click Click to upload a file to add your own.

Banner position

How the image is cropped. 0 aligns it to the top, 100 aligns it to the bottom.

Background color

The main page background.

Surface color

The large cards behind each section (Welcome, To-Do List, Upcoming Meetings).

Text color

Text on those cards, plus small card titles.

Card color

The individual items inside each section: quick links, tasks, and meetings.

Border color

Borders on all cards and secondary surfaces.

Heading size

The size of the Welcome, To-Do List, and Upcoming Meetings headings. Default is 18px.

Colors can be typed in as hex codes (like #D9E6F6) or picked from the color swatch.

The headings use the main heading font from your brand appearance settings, so they'll match the rest of your Tezzera branding automatically.

Content tab

This is where you edit the left column.

  1. Paste your Loom share link into Loom video link (optional).

  2. Write or update your message in Welcome text.

  3. Click Save settings.

Quick Links tab

  1. Type a name for the button in Link label (for example, "Book a Call").

  2. Paste the URL it should open in the https:// field.

  3. Click Add link. It appears in the list below.

  4. To delete a link, click Remove next to it.

  5. Click Save settings.

Changed your mind? Click Cancel to close the settings without saving anything.

Ideas to try

  • Record one welcome video per project type. A quick Loom walking through how a branding or packaging project runs saves you from explaining it on every kickoff call.

  • Turn the welcome message into a weekly update. A few lines every Friday on where things stand means fewer "just checking in!" emails.

  • Match the banner to the client's moodboard. Pull a texture or image from the project so the Overview feels like their brand from day one.

  • Filter the To-Do List to your client's tasks. When you're waiting on feedback or files, it makes their to-dos impossible to miss.

FAQ

Do design changes apply to all my projects? No. Overview settings are saved per project, so each one can have its own look.

Which tasks show up on the To-Do List? By default, tasks that are overdue or due in the next two weeks. Use the status and assignee filters to narrow it further.

Where do the meetings come from? When a client books through one of your booking pages, Tezzera checks their email against the clients added to your projects. If there's a match, the meeting is linked to that project automatically and shows up on its Overview tab. If a client has access to more than one project, double-check that the meeting landed in the right one. Go to Meetings > Events, click the … next to the meeting, select Manage booking, and change the linked project.

Do I have to add a Loom video? Nope, it's optional. Your welcome message and Quick Links work fine on their own.
