Client Portal vs. Project Overview: Where Should My Links Go?

Tezzera has two places where you can share quick links with clients: the main client portal (what clients see on their home dashboard) and the Project Overview tab (the first tab inside each project).

They look similar, but they work very differently. Here's the short version:

  • Client portal links are universal. Every client that's been invited to your workspace sees the same links here.

  • Project Overview links are project-specific. Only the people in that project see them.

So if a link only applies to one client or one project, it belongs on that project's Overview tab.

FAQ

Can I add quick links to the main client portal?

Yes! Just keep in mind that client portal links are universal. Every client who logs in sees the same links on their home dashboard, so they should only point to things that apply to everyone.

What kinds of links belong on the client portal?

Anything that's true for every client. For example:

  • Your studio's welcome guide

  • Your general booking page for quick check-in calls

  • Your website or Instagram

  • Studio policies, holiday hours, or office closures

What kinds of links belong on the Project Overview tab?

Anything specific to one client or project. For example:

  • A Google Doc where this client uploads their website copy

  • Your shared Pinterest board for this project

  • A booking page for this project's review calls

  • A folder of files or brand assets for this client

Why not just put everything on the client portal?

Because every client would see it. If you add a link to one client's copy doc or moodboard there, your other clients will see it too. That's confusing at best, and at worst it shares one client's work with another.

I already added project-specific links to my client portal. What should I do?

Remove them from the client portal, then add them to the right project's Overview tab instead:

  1. Open the project and go to the Overview tab.

  2. Click the settings icon in the top-right corner of the banner.

  3. Open the Quick Links tab.

  4. Add a Link label and paste the URL, then click Add link.

  5. Click Save settings.

Who can see a project's Overview tab?

Only the people who have access to that project. So it's safe to share links, videos, and updates that are just for that client.

What else can I add to the Project Overview tab?

Think of it as a client portal that lives inside the project. Besides quick links, you can embed a Loom video, write a welcome message or weekly update, and customize the banner, colors, and heading size. Your client's upcoming tasks and meetings for the project show up there automatically, too.
