What is a memo/tag and when do I need to add it?

Updated over 3 months ago

When depositing or withdrawing XRP (Ripple), you must include a Destination Tag to ensure your funds are correctly credited.

⚠️ Missing or incorrect tags may result in delayed or failed deposits or withdrawals.

What Is a Destination Tag?

A Destination Tag is a short numeric code used alongside your XRP wallet address. Since multiple users may share the same wallet address on a platform, the tag identifies your specific account.

Think of it like an apartment number in a shared building: without it, we don’t know which unit the delivery is for.

When Do You Need to Include It?

Include a Destination Tag whenever you:

  • Deposit XRP to your Thrill.com wallet

  • Withdraw XRP to an external platform that requires a tag

If a tag is required, it will be displayed next to your XRP wallet address during the transaction process.

Always copy and paste both the wallet address and the tag before sending.

What Happens If You Forget the Tag?

  • Your XRP deposit won’t appear in your account automatically

  • You must contact Support and provide proof of transaction

  • Recovery is not guaranteed and may take time

How to Find Your XRP Tag on Thrill.com

  1. Open your Wallet

  2. Select XRP (Ripple)

  3. View your deposit address and destination tag

  4. Copy both for use when sending from external platforms
