Deleting Records in Thrive

Understand how to delete people, company, and project records in Thrive and what to do if you don't have access.

Written by Vincent Turk

Deleting people, company, and project records in Thrive is permanent and cannot be undone. We recommend deleting only when absolutely necessary — in cases of duplicate records, consider using the Merge function instead.

How deletion works

The ability to delete records is permissions-based and controlled by your account admin. When enabled, the delete option is available directly within the record in Thrive.

If the delete option is greyed out or missing

This typically means your current role doesn't have delete permissions enabled for that record type. You have two options:

  • Reach out to your account admin to have your permissions updated

  • Ask your account admin to action the deletion on your behalf

For account admins

Delete access for people, company, and project records is managed in the Admin Portal under Roles and Permissions. Each record type can have delete enabled or disabled independently per role.

For more on configuring roles, see [Create and Assign Roles to Users] and [Roles and Permissions].
