Once your roster is synced, students will be able to access any assignments you've made available for Instant Student Feedback. For an assignment to appear on a student’s Assignments page, it must meet the following conditions:

  • The assignment is published on the instructor side of the platform

  • Instant Student Feedback is enabled in the assignment settings

How Students Get Feedback

When Instant Student Feedback is enabled for an assignment, students can generate up to three rounds of feedback on their drafts to help them revise and improve before submitting their final version.

From the Assignments page, students can open an assignment to get feedback. They will be able to see:

  • Assignment title

  • Assignment description

  • Assignment rubric

Students can upload a draft for feedback by clicking “Upload a Draft” in the right sidebar.

As soon as students upload their draft will begin processing, and when it's finished, they can click "View" to see feedback TimelyGrader has generated based on the parameters you set during assignment setup.

Students view feedback in a layout similar to the instructor grading view, with their assignment on the left and feedback displayed in the right sidebar.

They can mark feedback as helpful (thumbs-up) or unhelpful/incorrect (thumbs-down). These ratings are visible to you when reviewing Instant Feedback on the instructor side of the platform.

How to Review Instant Student Feedback

You can review feedback that students have generated at any time by opening the assignment from the Assignments page and clicking "View Feedback" under Instant Student Feedback.

This will take you to an overview of all instant student feedback for your course. Click "View All," or if you want to view feedback for a specific student, click "View."

You will be able to see the feedback students received, and how they rated it (thumbs-up or thumbs-down). If you click the "..." menu, you can edit, copy, or delete feedback.

As soon as you save your edits or delete feedback, students will see an updated version on their side of the platform.
