When you allow the connection of your tl;dv account and your Outlook or Google Calendar, that's when you're really making the most out of this tool. πŸ†’

Are you trying to find out how to fix it? Click here and skip all the juicy talk.

Here's a few things you can achieve thanks to the calendar integration:

Auto-recording your calendar events, even if you don't join them

Can't afford to miss on that Daily Standup? tl;dv has got you covered. By enabling your calendar integration, and setting your preferences to auto-record, our bot will ask to join the meeting even if you're not there!

Supercharging your CRM integration and skipping the admin work

Can't be bothered manually filling out your CRM fields everytime you had a meeting with a contact or a lead? Worry not. When you set up your calendar integration, tl;dv will:

  1. Collect your meeting attendee's e-mail

  2. Assign the meeting notes to the corresponding profile on your CRM

No more manual copying and pasting. 😎

Note: you don't need to have auto-recording enabled for this to work, you just need to ensure your calendar is connected!

Auto-sharing notes, collecting consent, getting templates

If you've already saved the time on getting your meeting notes together, and your CRM filled in, why not save the time on sharing all of this with your meeting attendants? When you have your calendar integration set up, you can:

  • Whenever you choose, tl;dv can share meeting notes automatically with participants after each meeting.

  • Comply with GDPR by automatically requesting consent to record meetings.

  • Whenever you choose to, tl;dv can introduce itself to external participants before meetings.

  • Use participant-based triggers to automatically apply meeting note templates.

Setting up your Calendar integration

So now that you know why the Calendar integration matters, let's figure out how to set it up.

When you're first setting up your account with tl;dv, going through the Single Sign-On flow for Google or Microsoft, you're going to be met with either of these screens.

Google:

Microsoft:

This is the first moment where you can accept tl;dv to read your Calendar and pick up the information it needs to supercharge your meetings and integrations 😎

You will see a series of panels through your onboarding flow asking you to confirm your preferences, like auto-recording and auto-sharing. Find more details on how you can fine tune them to your liking in this article.

But let's say you didn't allow tl;dv to integrate with your Calendar at this point, and now you're looking to enable this option and get the ball rolling on auto-recording and app integrations. Worry not! Here's how to fix it.

Fixing your calendar integration

Your CRM isn't getting correctly populated? Or your bot isn't joining your meetings automatically? Or even maybe you opened your tl;dv main page and saw this banner?

"Calendar permissions needed. Important features (automations, custom notes, integrations, among others) might not work."

This means that tl;dv cannot access your calendar and thus there's a number of things that won't work as expected! If you click "Complete setup", we'll do the work for you. If this still doesn't work, let's look at another (more manual) solution:

Google account

  • Log out of tl;dv

  • Remove the tl;dv calendar Integration from your Google account: (https://myaccount.google.com/connections)

  • Then log back in to tl;dv - It should ask you to accept permission for tl;dv to access your calendar.

This what your Google connections should look like:

Microsoft account

  • Open your settings and preferences

  • Turn off your auto-recording options

  • Log out of tl;dv

  • Log back into tl;dv

  • Turn on your auto-recording options

This will force your Microsoft calendar to fully resync with tl;dv, which will prove useful, even if you turn the auto-recording off again! πŸ˜„
