tl;dv offers many settings to save you time, and make sure all your meetings are recorded smoothly, this article explains how the settings work, and how to adjust them.
Tip: All the settings mentioned here can be found on your preferences page.
Auto-record calendar events
This is the best way to ensure reliable recording of all your meetings across providers (Google Meet, Zoom or MS Teams).
We highly recommend keeping this enabled for all meetings.
You can always stop tl;dv from recording a specific meeting by denying it entry at the start of a meeting.
You choose which meetings youβd like to record automatically:
All meetings - all of your meetings, regardless of who is present.
Internal meetings - where all participants share the same email domain as you.
External meetings - where at least one participant has a different email domain.
To record meetings manually, install the tl;dv Chrome extension (for Google meet) or the desktop app (for Zoom & MS Teams).
Note: To record only meetings that you join, you'll need the Chrome extension and Google meet. This is not currently supported for Zoom or MS Teams.
Auto-publish meetings
This setting specifies who will see your meeting recordings in their library in tl;dv:
Your organization is everyone who shares the same email domain as you. (Not available for public email providers like Gmail).
Your team is everyone who shares the same Pro plan with you. (You can see this on the Members page.)
Note: This setting does not trigger any notification emails when a new meeting recording is published.
Auto-sharing via email to meeting invitees
This setting dictates whether your meeting recordings are automatically shared with all of the participants, only with those from within your organization, or no one at all:
Note: Your organization is based on your email domain. If you choose this option, the recording will be shared with all participants who have the same email domain as you.
Tip: We recommend leaving the first option selected, so all participants have access to their recording, as this is considered personally identifiable information according to GDPR.
If you're a fan of tl;dv and want to share in our success, you can also include an automatic referral link in each of these emails. Whenever someone uses that link to sign up for tl;dv, you get paid. π
Language Preferences
Transcript and AI Notes language
This is the language that your videos will be transcribed in.
This setting will not translate from the language spoken in a meeting.
For example, if you have it set to English, but speak in Spanish, tl;dv will attempt to detect English words, rather than detecting the Spanish words and translating them to English. In this case, you'd need to update the transcript language on the meeting itself.tl;dv doesn't yet support multi-language detection, so each meeting will be transcribed in a single language.
Your AI notes will be generated in the same language as your transcript.
Tip: If you regularly host meetings in different languages, check the box to confirm your language settings before each meeting:
Note: To choose the language on a per-meeting basis, you need to use the Chrome extension and manually start your recording. This is not yet supported for Zoom and Teams with our desktop app.
tl;dv platform language
This is the language you see in the tl;dv interface, on all the buttons, and labels.
This setting also defines the language used in your AI generations, but you can specify a different language in the prompt itself. π
