What does Inactivated Card mean for gift cards?

The Inactivated Card error means that the card is not yet active, and likely has not been sold.
If you are receiving this error and know that the card has been sold:
In Toast Web, navigate to Reports > Payments > Inactive Gift Cards.
Search for the gift card number within the report.
If the gift card is in the Inactive Gift Cards report, select the card from the report to view Card Details.
Edit the gift card's information and select Active from the status dropdown box.
Save your changes, and the gift card will be reactivated and available for sale.
