Toast Bill Pay Overview

Toast Bill Pay is our new, intuitive restaurant invoice payment solution, powered by xtraCHEF, that combines cash flow visibility with the flexibility of how and when customers wish to pay their suppliers. Only the Tenant Administrator user role has access to this feature.

Toast Bill Pay Benefits

Toast Bill Pay Setup

Setting up Bill Pay is easy and takes just a few minutes!

  1. Accept Terms & Conditions: Upon logging into app.sa.toasttab.com, navigate to Bill Pay > Start Now to accept the Terms & Conditions. After reading the Terms & Conditions, select the checkbox and then select I agree. This must be done for each restaurant location in order to sign up. You must have an active deposit bank account in Toast Web to continue.

    1. Once I agree has been selected, xtraCHEF will send an email to all tenant admins at this location to confirm Bill Pay sign-up.

  2. Set up payment methods: You will be automatically directed to the Bill Pay settings page. Here, we've automatically pulled in your Toast Web bank account you've already verified as part of your Toast onboarding process.

  3. Map GL Accounts: Scroll down further on the same page. If you have QuickBooks Online, you will need to map your GL accounts to the correct payment method after you set up your payment methods. This allows xtraCHEF to update your invoices in QuickBooks Online with the correct funding method.

  4. Add vendor ACH & remit information: Lastly, set up your vendors for ACH by navigating to Vendors > select a vendor > Bill Pay. Here, you can add your vendor's payment preference and details, remit address, and notification preference (email address for payment confirmation). Vendors who are set up with ACH receive their payment in five to six business days.

  5. This step is optional, but recommended. You can also set this up individually while paying a bill to a specific vendor.
