Use Email Marketing for the First Time
Note: We don't want your guests to feel spammed, so we have a rule in place that if any guest has gotten an automated marketing campaign from you in the past 28 days, they cannot receive another one.
First, log in to Toast Web. For first-time email marketing users, you will begin by using the left navigation in Toast Web and selecting Marketing. Then select from the Create new drop-down menuand select Email campaign OR scroll down to the Email marketing section of the page and select Create email campaign.
A banner will prompt you to enter your required information next. Select the Add required info link.
In this section, fill in the required information.
Note: Use the drop-down menu to select your locations for multi-management locations.
Once complete, Save your changes.
You can now build automated, one-time campaigns and view your marketing dashboard. Move forward with the steps in the next section to start your first campaign.
Create an Ongoing Email Marketing Campaign
Bringing guests back to the restaurant lies within your ability to use the customer data available to you within Toast POS to create an automated email marketing strategy. These "set it and forget it" campaigns can help you increase revenue by increasing the frequency of visits from existing guests and driving additional sales from lapsed guests.
In Toast Web, navigate to the Marketing section using the left-hand navigation. Then navigate to the Email marketing drop-down and select Campaigns.
Navigate to the New campaign drop-down and select Automated campaign.
Navigate to the Automated tab and there you can select to send to restaurant group or each location. Select Edit details for the chosen campaign:
Welcome new guests: Email guests who provide their email for the first time to welcome them to your community. This is a great place to include links to your website, online ordering page, or social media.
Remind guests to visit again: Email guests who have not visited in a while and encourage them to come back. These campaigns help keep guests engaged and returning.
Recognize high-spending guests: Engage with your high-spending guests and let them know that you appreciate them.
Thank repeat guests: Thank and reward guests who visit regularly. These campaigns are a great way to share promos as a thank you.
Drive online orders: Encourage your guests to order online for the first time.
Drive in store visits: Bring guests into your store for an in person visit!
Follow up with your guests: Thank your guests for their business and encourage them to return.
Drive Loyalty Enrollment: Invite your guests to join your Loyalty program

Edit Email Content
If you want to edit the Sender name, preview text, or the Reply-To email address of your ongoing email, select the pencil icon in the top left corner of the screen. After making your changes, select Save.

Select Start campaign and the status will change to Active.
Note: If at any time you wish to end this ongoing campaign, select the campaign from your dashboard and choose Stop Campaign.

Select Activate campaign to complete.
Once complete, you will receive an activation confirmation.
