How do I restart my Elo terminal, Toast Go®, and/or Toast Flex device?
How can I improve the performance and memory usage of my Toast device?
Answer
Powering down your devices and then powering them back on refreshes the memory usage and can result in improved performance.
Find the power button on your device.
On a Toast Flex or Elo terminal, it's located on the back of the device
On a Toast Go® 1 or 2, it's located on the right side of the device, near the top
Select the Power off button. It may look like one of the buttons below. Note: For a Toast Go® 3 device, hold the power button and volume button for 8 seconds to restart.
After about one to two minutes, turn your device back on by pressing the power button until the device screen turns back on.
In general, Toast recommends doing this weekly so that your devices don't become sluggish over time. Do not restart your device if your restaurant is in Offline Mode.
