Score Distribution shows TOEFL® total score and section score performances of a selected country during the selected date range.* The images below display examples of the results.
Some Ways to Use These Metrics:
Balance Global Representation
Analyzing test scores by country may help ensure a more balanced representation from different regions and assist in the distribution of country-specific scholarships or incentives to attract diverse talent.
Strategize Partnership Development
If certain countries show promising TOEFL test score performance but lower application numbers, consider seeking partnerships with local schools, educational organizations, or testing centers to boost awareness and build relationships.
Target Recruitment Efforts
Use score data to prioritize recruitment efforts, targeting countries or regions where strong TOEFL test performance indicates language readiness for the institution’s academic rigor but where current recruitment efforts or applications are low.
By integrating TOEFL test score performance by country into your decision-making and recruitment processes, you may be able to pursue a more holistic, equitable, and strategic approach to both attracting and evaluating applicants globally.
*About Metrics and Data Sources:
Dashboard metrics display information about TOEFL iBT test takers who applied to your institution and are based on information provided to ETS by those TOEFL iBT test takers.
Metrics reflect the number of score reports received by your institution, which may differ from the number of applicants.
Metrics are reported when there are 10 or more scores in a selected date range.
Performance level descriptors can be found in the TOEFL® Research Insight Series, Volume 9: Guidelines for Setting Useful Score Requirements for the TOEFL iBT® Test (pp. 15-18).
