Topstep offers the Trading Combine, Express Funded Account, and Live Funded Account through various trading platforms. We suggest using one of our recommended platforms, like TopstepX, NinjaTrader, or Quantower, but we also offer additional platform options that may work better depending on the device you use to trade and your personal preferences. The platform you use during the Trading Combine is the same one you’ll use once you earn funding, so choose wisely!

Take a look at the tips below to ensure you select the best platform for your needs.

  • For T4 users: All Trading Combines purchased or reset after 3 PM CT will be available the next trading day at 5 PM CT. We recommend purchasing Resets or Trading Combines before 2:30 PM CT to avoid this delay. Also, Topstep's CTS System does not currently include Micro contracts, so T4 users will not have the option to trade micros at this time. We are working to improve this process in the future.

  • For TradingView users: It's possible to trade on TradingView by purchasing a new Tradovate Trading Combine and enabling the TradingView add-on. The TradingView add-on is available for all Tradovate users. Click here to get started with the add-on in Tradovate.

Can I switch my platform?

If you decide you want to switch platforms after starting your Trading Combine, we have a few options for you:

  • If you've selected a platform on the Rithmic Data Feed, then you can connect to any other platform on the Rithmic Data Feed by following that platform's connection instructions. (Data Feed details for each platform are here: List of Supported Platforms.)

  • If you want to switch to a platform that uses a different data feed, this will require a new Trading Combine. Multiple Trading Combines are permitted, so it's up to you to keep or cancel your original subscription. Log in to your existing Topstep account and click "Start a New Combine" to purchase a new Trading Combine with your desired platform. (Do not create a new Topstep profile)

  • If you want to switch platforms on a Trading Combine with no trading activity, please contact our support team, and we will do our best to facilitate the switch.

After passing the Trading Combine, can I switch to a new platform for my Express Funded Account?

No, you cannot switch to a new trading platform for your Express Funded Account after passing the Trading Combine. After passing your Trading Combine, your Express Funded Account will be created with the same platform as the Trading Combine. If you want an Express Funded Account on a different platform, you will need to start a new Trading Combine and pass to earn an Express Funded Account on your desired platform.

Can I connect my TopstepX account to other platforms?

No, you cannot use TopstepX with any other trading platforms. TopstepX provides its own isolated market data feed, so it cannot be connected to other trading platforms.

It's important to note that TopstepX has TradingView Charts, but custom indicators are not currently available. We are working on including these in the future.

If you need to use TradingView Custom Indicators, you must use TradingView via a Tradovate account at this time.
