Our system cannot create sevensomes or eightsomes, however, there are two alternative methods to achieve this functionality that may work for you. You can:
β
Create a player for every team.
Separate each sevensome/eightsome into two pairing groups
If you are setting up a scramble, we suggest option 1. If you are setting up another format where every player plays their own ball, we suggest option 2.
Option 1: Create a player for every team:
Instead of adding players to the event roster, add teams to the event roster and create "onesomes" in the pairings. The disadvantage is that player names will not be entered and you will not have suitable reporting for reports like alpha lists. To do this:
Go to Golfers > Manually Add Players to Roster.
Enter the team names as the last name. Keep in mind that space is limited on the scorecards and other reporting so the names may get cut off. Save the roster once every team is added.
Go to Rounds > Create New Pairings > Automatic Scheduling > Randomly > Next > Continue.
Separate the pairing groups into "onesomes" by adding new rows and moving the teams to the empty rows (as shown below).
Set the course/tee, tee times, and starting holes. Save the pairings.
Set up the tournament(s). Go to Rounds > Tournaments > Add New Tournament. Select "player v. field" as the competition. Save the tournament.
If the tournament is net, go to Rounds > Handicap Analysis. Click on a team and select "Adjust Course Handicap". Enter the team Course Handicap. Repeat this step for all remaining teams.
Print your material. Scorecards will print with the team name on the player line. Cart signs will be printed with the team name as well.
Option 2: Separate each sevensome/eightsome into two pairing groups:
If you are playing a format where everyone plays their own ball, we suggest separating each sevensome/eightsome into two pairing groups. To do this:
β
Go to Rounds > Create New Pairings > Manual Pairings. Each sevensome/eightsome should be separated into two separate pairing groups. Below is a tee sheet with sevensomes (each sevensome is circled).
Set the starting hole/times manually. Make sure the two pairing groups used to create each sevensome have the same starting hole/time.The starting holes will default to A and B holes. You can leave them as they are or erase the "A" and "B" (as shown below).
Once the starting time/holes are set, save the pairings.
Create seven/eight-person teams. For details on creating teams, Click Here.
Go to Rounds > Tournaments > Add New Tournament. Select the team list that was created in the previous step as well as "Team(all) vs. field/flight" as the competition (as shown below).
Print your material. Each sevensome/eightsome will have two separate scorecards. Print your cart signs, tee sheets, and alpha lists as you usually do.
