A Multi-Division Bias tournament is defined as:
A gross Stroke Play tournament where two tournaments are played concurrently using two divisions.
One division is a complete subset of the other division (e.g., Senior division where all players are also in the Regular division).
Both tournaments have the same format and ranking structure.
A player can only win purse/points for one of the tournaments (best possible purse/points).
To set up a Multi-Division Bias tournament, follow these instructions:
Go to Golfers > Event Divisions/Flights/Teams and create the two divisions (as shown below).
Set up a tournament for each division. Select the appropriate division for each tournament and make sure the handicapping option and ranking structure option (e.g., by 1st, 2nd,..Nth) is the same for both tournaments (as shown below).
Link the two tournaments. When setting up the linked tournament, select the "Keep Best Results..." linking method (as shown below).
The tournament will then be set up and players will only be awarded points/purse in the tournament where they earned the most.
Example:
A gross event has a regular division tournament (with all players) and a senior division (all seniors also in the regular division). Below is the senior leaderboard:
Pillar, Kelly, and Ingraham are excluded from the rankings (and purse) because they earned more purse in the regular tournament (as shown below).
On the other hand, Cooper is excluded from the regular division tournament rankings because he earned more purse in the senior tournament than in the regular division tournament.
